Itinerary & program
The ice and weather situation decides where we will ice skate. We choose the area that provides the best Nordic skating conditions at the time. We will book your choice of accommodation in the area to minimize travel time. Your guide will do everything he can to make your stay special.
Day 1
Your guide picks you up at the airport, train station or at your hotel. After changing to skating clothes and getting familiar with the skating equipment, if possible we stop at a lake nearby or start on a nearby ice drive or the sea where the local ice guide lives. After checking in to your accommodation of choice, you will have dinner together with your guide who reveal the plans for the next day.
Day 2
At breakfast we prepare our lunch packs and fill up the thermoses with tea or coffee. We pack everything we need for the day in the provided skating backpacks and head out. After a short walk or ride in the minibus we will be on the ice! Guide first, checking the ice and navigating. You following on safe ice enjoying the Swedish nature.
The speed and distance is adjusted to the group and the ice condition. Now and then we take short stops to admire the scenery, chat or just eat. During the day we try to find shade for lunch. Sometimes we walk to another nearby lake. At the end of the day we head back to our accommodation. Before dinner there is time to relax, take a short trip, wood-fire sauna or go to the sauna. Later on, if the conditions are right, your guide might propose to go ice skating in the moonlight!
Last day
We ice skate as long as we can before heading to the airport. Or we can visit an old village and have coffee in a cosy place. You will be well in time for your flight back home.
Our ice skating trips starts from Stockholm Arlanda Airport. Sweden’s largest airport, and juncture between Stockholm and other Swedish cities as well as the rest of the world.
If you travel by train or bus, it is easy to get to Stockholm Arlanda Airport. If you are already in Stockholm, you can take the local train to Rotebro station and we will pick you up there.
